No.8 Cast Iron Dutch Oven

I was surprised by how smooth the factory seasoning is—eggs slide right off with just a little butter. The 4.5-quart size is perfect for baking bread and simmering stews without taking up too much stove space. Cleanup is noticeably easier than my old rough cast iron pots.

I've been using it for braising chicken thighs and the surface is incredibly smooth—nothing sticks at all. The 4.5-quart size fits perfectly for my weekday dinners.

The seasoning is decent for a start, but I've already noticed a few tiny chips in the surface after just three uses. It's heavy enough to feel solid, though lighter than my old one.
