The lid fits so snugly on this skillet that I can braise chicken without adding extra liquid, and the cast iron heats evenly across the whole surface. It’s already developing a beautiful non-stick patina after just a few uses.
The self-basting ridges on the lid really lock in moisture—my stew came out incredibly tender. The whole set feels solid and the lid fits snugly without wobbling.
The skillet itself heats evenly and feels solid, but the lid’s self-basting ridges don't seem to make a huge difference in moisture retention. For the price, I expected a bit more from the seasoning performance out of the box.
