The leather grips the handle snugly enough that I can lift a heavy Dutch oven one-handed without it slipping, and the stitching feels sturdy through the first few weeks of use. My knuckles used to hover near the hot iron, but now they stay clear the whole transfer.
I’ve been grabbing my skillet straight from the oven without a mitt ever since this cover slipped on—the leather’s grip is rock solid even when my hands are a bit greasy. The ergonomic shape follows the handle so closely it feels like part of the pan, and my knuckles haven’t kissed hot iron once.
The fit on my cast iron skillet is snug enough that it doesn't slip when I'm carrying it to the table, which is exactly what I needed. My hand stays cool even when the pan's been on the stove for a while, and the leather's got a nice grip to it.
